Red and Blue

How often did I discover that when I wanted to use blue there was no more left. So I simply used red in place of blue! The worthlessness of intellectual considerations.
~ Picasso

She drank from a bottle called DRINK ME
And up she grew so tall,
She ate from a plate called TASTE ME
And down she shrank so small.
And so she changed, while other folks
Never tried nothin’ at all.

Alice Shel Silverstein

‘The study was slowly lit up by the candle that was brought. Familiar details emerged: deer’s antlers, shelves of books, the back of the stove with a vent that had long been in need of repair, his father’s sofa, the big desk, an open book on the desk, a broken ashtray, a notebook with his handwriting. When he saw it all, he was overcome by a momentary doubt of the possibility of setting up that new life he had dreamed of on the way. All these traces of his life seemed to seize hold of him and say to him: ‘No, you won’t escape us and be different you’ll be the same as you were with doubts, with an eternal dissatisfaction with yourself, vain attempts to improve, and failures, and an eternal expectation of the happiness that has eluded you and is not possible for you.’
But that was how his things talked, while another voice in his soul said that he must not submit to the past and it was possible to do anything with oneself.’
(from Anna Karenina, chapter 26)
Many thanks for this quote to Jenni Birchwood.

ce matin

If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal—that is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself.

Deep within the Lab...

An evil artist experiments on a Pear

How many different ways can you show a single object?

How many combinations can you think of with available material?

How many compositions can you figure out?

I experiment with one single object all the time.

And end up with the most surprising results

And varied images
(remember this?)

 They are endless

And lots of fun!
