Your portrayal of candlelight in a dark room is striking. Fairy tales have long been a favorite of mine, so I'm now intrigued to give Angela Carter's stories a try.Sharmon Davidsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12857659019638341374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-145309565354388638.post-38491178188417583362014-03-15T11:15:10.141+05:302014-03-15T11:15:10.141+05:30Thank you Zoe. I started drawing on white paper and built up layers of black charcoal as I went along.<br />Some aspects of the picture like the texture of the doorway (cave) and its archway acquire a mind of their own during the process of making the picture.Priya Sebastianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16214406782863174055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-145309565354388638.post-72939179320568987382014-03-15T11:10:31.262+05:302014-03-15T11:10:31.262+05:30Robyn, thank you for your comment and for the many...Robyn, thank you for your comment and for the many reasons you've given for liking this picture. The hand details are exquisite too. The key has caught my attention because I am working on a carving with an old key attached. You've portrayed so well the horror on the girls face. Again without over exaggerating it.ArtPropelledhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15853722164314994360noreply@blogger.com
